After the wallpaper goes up and the article of furniture is installed, a room is not complete, some designers might debate, until it is brightened by botanicals. We reached out to 17 designers from across the country (and a few abroad, too) to discover out who they rely on to orchestrate these exquisite creations for their projects.

In November, Athena Calderone hosted a dinner for the German language luxury fashion visitor Mytheresa at her Brooklyn town house. Wanting to "create a dramatic fall scene," as Calderone explains, the designer and Eye Swoon founder turned to longtime collaborator Taylor Patterson of the Williamsburg, Brooklyn, floral studio Trick Fodder Farm. "This culminated in an autumnal forest that wrapped the walls and ceilings of my living room, making guests feel equally though they entered a magical woodland. It's something we'd never seen done before," Calderone says. "There are no limits to what we'll do in gild to achieve our aesthetic goals, whether that means poking holes in the ceiling or tying florals with fishing lines on the banister."

Patterson has heaps of other fans in the design world, too, including the multidisciplinary AD100 practice Workstead. Workstead and Play tricks Forage Farm team up ofttimes, including recently for the lobby of the revamped Ane Prospect Park West in Brooklyn. "Taylor and her squad have a cracking sense of style, sourcing seasonal flowers and purchasing locally when possible," Workstead principal Ryan Mahoney says. VSF
New York City

Although New Rochelle, New York, is Joy Moyler's dwelling house base, information technology's VSF (Very Special Flowers) in Manhattan that she seeks out for client gifts and floral displays. Moyler, whose current projects range from a Dutchess County farmhouse to a rehabbed villa in Santa Margherita, Italian republic, showtime stumbled upon VSF when she worked at Ralph Lauren. The designer was captivated by the shop's florals that adorned the fashion behemoth's Madison Avenue headquarters. Among VSF's specialties are large showcases centered on 1 flower—"truly beautiful presentations," as Moyler describes it. "Plus, they are nice people. That means a lot to me." vsfnyc.com

A room is incomplete without flowers and art, Clive Lonstein insists. "Both draw your eye to these rich moments and bring life into a infinite," continues the South Africa–born, New York–based designer, who oversaw the in-house architecture and design studio at Tiffany & Co. before launching his ain enterprise. Diana Kellogg gravitates to US Evergreens in Manhattan's Blossom Commune specifically for its branches. Kellogg, the founder of a sustainable-minded architecture business firm known for projects like the Rajkumari Ratnavati Girl'due south School in India, calls United states Evergreens early in the morning "and they deliver the branches cut to the size I requested the aforementioned day," she says. Kellogg weaves the branches into both photo shoots of the high-ceiling lofts that comprise most of her residential work, and into her own domicile where she spreads them effectually in tall vases. Mignon Hooper
Charlotte, North Carolina

"She has mastered the art of classic elegance in a vase," but with a bohemian edge, says Charlotte, North Carolina, designer Greyness Walker of local florist Mignon Hooper. Hooper, who runs the shop Charlotte's Garden, brings her quietly fashionable bouquets to such projects as a nearby antiques-filled, coral-hued abode complete with rose garden designed past Walker. Walker is so drawn in by Hooper's skills that she even asked Hooper to enliven her son's university graduation political party. The upshot? Birmingham, Alabama

Florals are an organic fit for Birmingham, Alabama, designer Dana Wolter's airy, comfortable homes, but she has a precise vision for these displays that she feels is best executed past the local experts at Dorothy McDaniel's Flower Market. Jimmie Henslee was working as a stylist for Ralph Lauren when he first caught the attending of Jan Showers.
