Hardcover. Condition: Fair. No Jacket. Beginning Edition. Fair condition hardcover with no jacket, 1954, 1st edition, second press. Book has some llight general vesture and the backstrip on the spine has detached at both gutters, making information technology loose just present. Binding hinges are ok and volume is readable and usable, perhaps repairable. Volume is bound in red cloth. Interior quite nice. Scarce title. Size: 8vo - 7.5" to ix.5" Alpine. Book.

Condition: Off-white. 1954. Second Impression. 343 pages. No dust jacket. Red textile boards with gilt lettering. Blackness and white illustrated frontispiece and illustrations. Slight crinkling to paper at gutter. Clean pages and illustrations with light tanning and foxing to text block edges. Binding is firm throughout with minor thumb-marker. Heavier tanning to free endpapers. Pencil inscription to forepart pastedown. Boards have mild edge-wear with slight rubbing to surfaces and bumping to corners. Slight burdensome to spine ends. Gold lettering is darkened. Moderate sunning to spine and edges. Minor article of clothing marks to boards.

In a fair dustwrapper which shows a trivial edge wear and tear and which has traces of superficial damp-staining. The wrapper is at present protected in a clear, removable, sleeve. A clean copy internally with no ownership inscription or foxing. Pp.vii,343. Numerous drawings and photographs by the author. The Glass of Fashion, 50 Years of Clothes and Decor: A Kaleidoscope of Changing Tastes and the People Who Inspired Them, octavo, first American edition, Doubleday, 1954, pp. 397, black material boards with lettering in silverish and a red stamped epitome of a fashionable lady on the front, illustrations by the author. Chunks of the dust jacket are missing at the spine, and the jacket is otherwise chipped. All else is sound, with the pages showing some age-toning. Beaton signed the half-title with an inscription to Mickey Martin, probably the dancer and actor Michael Martin-Harvey, with whom Beaton worked. This is the first The states edition. Size: Octavo (standard volume size). 397. Text body is clean, and free from previous owner notation, underlining and highlighting. Bounden is tight, covers and spine fully intact. Dust Jacket has chunks missing, only is otherwise intact, with both flaps. All edges clean, neat and free of foxing. Quantity Bachelor: 1. Shipped Weight: Under i kilo.
